What's the Best Air Purifier for A Pet Owner?

Many of us consider our pets to be an integral part of our families, and they give us a great deal of love and comfort. As pet owners, we must also look after the health of the entire family, pets tend to shed, bring in allergens from outside, and cause unwanted odors. General cleaning and vacuuming can help, but what about what’s in the air? How can we filter out pet hair?

In most cases, using an air purifier like Airmega is the best way to control these pollutants.

Pets Are a Part of The Family

When you have family members or guests that suffer from pet allergies, it's important to keep the home environment as clean as possible, which is why so many pet owners turn to air purifiers.

The Importance of Maintaining Clean Air for Pet Owners

As a responsible pet owner, providing a clean and healthy living environment for your furry, feathery, or scaly companions is of the utmost importance. Pets can be a significant source of indoor air pollutants, from dander and hair to odors and allergens. These airborne contaminants can not only affect the wellbeing of your pets, but also trigger reactions in household members and guests who suffer from allergies or respiratory issues.

Going Beyond Basic Cleaning

While regular vacuuming, dusting, and other household chores can help address some of the visible signs of pet-related messes, these surface-level cleaning methods often fall short when it comes to purifying the air. Pet dander, microscopic hair particles, and odor-causing compounds can linger long after you've tidied up, continuing to compromise indoor air quality. This is where a high-performance air purifier like Airmega becomes an invaluable asset for pet owners.

Learn the top tips for using Airmega air purifiers to help you rid your air of pet hair ASAP.

1. Use a HEPA filter

High Efficiency Particulate Air filters, also referred to as HEPA filters, are designed to get rid of all particles in the air that are 0.3 micrometers* or larger in diameter—small enough to catch pet dander and odor-causing material. Each model of Airmega uses this type of filter, and it’s the best choice for pet owners. They may even help reduce symptoms for anyone in the home who suffers from pet allergies.

2. Choose the right coverage

Some Airmega models are for large, open living spaces, others are for intimate spaces, and others still are in between somewhere. If your pet roams around a large living space, you may want to consider an Airmega 400 or Airmega 300. For medium-sized bedrooms or offices, you could purchase an Airmega 200M. For more options, every Airmega model is listed with its recommended square footage.

3. Change the filters on time

With pets that shed an excessive amount of fur, you’ll want to make sure to change your certified Coway filters on time. Indicator lights on the Airmega make it easy to know when it’s appropriate to clean or replace filters. Don't wait until you start sneezing to put in new, clean filters.

4. Take care of the whole family

Breathing clean air is a benefit to everyone’s health, including your pet’s. When shopping for an air purifier, remember it’s not just an investment in your home—it’s an investment in your whole family.

3Aerosol test conducted in a Biosafety level 3 laboratory with two Coway air purifier models, Coway Airmega 250 and 400 for removal of SARS-CoV-2 Aerosol by US based MRI Global, a not-for-profit laboratory and partner of US Department of Defense. The test was conducted in a 13.1ft3 chamber. Virus was aerosolized for 15 minutes and the product was turned on high for 2 minutes. Result showed each product effectively removed over 99.98% of the SARS-CoV-2 in 2 minutes. This is a result from a laboratory experiment condition and result may vary in different conditions. This result does not imply it kills SARS-CoV-2 or prevents the transmission of Covid-19. Coway Airmega 250S and 400S are identical to the tested models and has equal performance with an additional mobile connectivity function.

5The coverage area of the air purifier is based on an area where the air cleaner can make two air changes per hour (ACPH). An air change per hour translates to how many times an air purifier can clean an area, assuming the height of a ceiling to be 8 ft, in one hour. Therefore ** means two air changes per hour means that the cleaner can clean the area once every 30 minutes and * means air changes per hour means that the air purifier can clean the area once every 60 minutes.
